Seen below is our traditional territory. It officially spans 5,300,000 hectares (53,000 square kilometers or 20,463.4 square miles). However, TUS research has implied that the number may be as much as 5,600,000 hectares.

Our goal is to protect the land that we have traditionally used and continue to use for our own cultural purposes, including many herbs, medicines and species that industry and government have long undervalued because of its lack of economic value. We hope to ensure that these important resources are being taken care of and, thus, much work remains to be done, including an agreed-to official NStQ Land Use Plan and shared territory agreements with other First Nations whose territories overlap with ours.
