| Our newspaper (pronounced Leh-kie-em) is a bi-monthly publication that is produced in partnership with the Williams Lake Tribune. The meaning of Lexey'em in Secwepemctsin is 'to tell a story.' Our newspaper began in 2004. 1500 copies are circulated every edition. In it, we provide up-to-date treaty information, combined with community news, announcements and special sections dedicated for special occasions. To read the most recent edition, then click here. If you would like to submit an article, Secwepemc art, stories or poetry or an opinion on an issue related to Secwepemc culture or treaty, then please e-mail the submission to Cary Morin or fax the submission to (250) 392-6158 (e-mail is recommended and preferred). The deadline for submissions is the Friday of the last week of the month before a newspaper is released. We publish on January, March, May, July, September and November. For instance, if you wish to submit something for the May edition, it would be due on the very last Friday of April by 4:30 P.M. |
